SDSU Psychology Clinic
Offering low-cost, Culturally Sensitive Psychological Services to our Community
The SDSU Psychology Clinic is a community mental health clinic operated by the Department of Psychology at San Diego State University. We offer culturally sensitive, low-cost services to the San Diego community in English and Spanish. These services and treatment approaches are supported by scientific evidence and individualized to clients' needs.
Services are provided by doctoral students in the SDSU/UC San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology under the supervision of licensed faculty from both universities. Clinic supervisors are committed to providing high-quality training for graduate students as they learn and use evidence-based psychological treatments and assessments. The clinic is a member of the Association of Psychology Training Clinics.
Community engagement is a part of the mission of the SDSU Psychology Clinic. We dedicate time to sharing information about effective therapy and psychological services through consulting, presentations and workshops throughout San Diego County.
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy services are provided at the clinic, with services available for all ages (children, adolescents and adults). Therapy services use interventions that are tested and supported by research.
Group Therapy
Therapy groups are led by one or two therapists and serve a small group of individuals (usually between 3 and 6 group members) who share similar concerns and are working on developing similar skills. The therapists lead the group through skill-building exercises and discussions. The group setting allows the members to practice new skills and behaviors and receive support from other group members.
Child & Family Therapy
Through observing and conversing with your child, we can help address concerns like inattentiveness, mood swings, and irritability. Counseling for parents is also available.
Evaluation & Testing
The SDSU Psychology Clinic offers comprehensive testing and evaluation services for adults. We provide testing to assess for learning disorders, intellectual disability, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. We also perform assessments required for testing accommodations.
Child & Adolescent Evaluations
Our therapists can assess your child for learning disorders, intellectual disability, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.
