Psychological Evaluation & Testing

The SDSU Psychology Clinic offers comprehensive testing and evaluation services for adults, adolescents, and children.

We provide psychoeducational testing to assess for learning disorders, intellectual disability, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, as well as assessments required for testing accommodations.

The evaluation will consist of interviews (with the client and often with others who know the client and can provide information about behavior), self-report forms, and clinician administration of standardized tests.

Each testing plan is individualized to the client’s needs and reviewed by the licensed psychologist supervising the case.

All evaluations conclude with a feedback session outlining the results of the testing and a written report. An integrated report including the evaluation results and targeted recommendations is generally provided within four weeks of your final assessment session.

Evaluation Process

The evaluation process consists of several appointments, each a few hours long.

Depending on the reason for the evaluation and the client age, the clinical interview and assessments may require between two and four appointments with each appointment lasting a few hours.

Please note, if you are completing an assessment to determine whether you might be eligible for accommodations through a specific organization (such as the College Board, the California Bar Exam), you must notify your assessor of those needs at the intake and bring along information about any specific tests that organization requires.
